David K. Banner
David K. Banner, PhD was the Professor of Leadership at the Dahl School of Business, Viterbo University, La Crosse, WI until 2008; he has now retired from university teaching. He currently mentors PhD students in Leadership and Organization Change at Walden University in Minneapolis. From 2003-2006, he was the Director of the innovative, values-based MBA program at Viterbo, essentially starting the program from scratch, recruiting students, setting up a Board of Advisors, hiring and mentoring faculty and getting the program accredited. All in all, he spent 35 years in university teaching in Canada, the US, Australia, and the Netherlands. He is the author of 6 books, 30 journal articles, and 35 conference papers on transformational leadership, self-management, new paradigm organization design, ethics and integrity in business and related topics. In his varied career, he has been an aerospace engineer for NASA, a management consultant for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell (an international accounting/consulting firm), an entrepreneur, a university professor and an author. He currently resides in Viroqua, WI, a small southwestern Wisconsin town where he is member of the Vernon County Board of Supervisors, 5 Board sub-committees, The Board of Pleasant Ridge Waldorf school and a member of its Finance Committee, , a founding member of the Youth Initiative High School (Waldorf-inspired), and served on the Historical Society, the Comprehensive Planning Committee and the Board of the Viroqua Food Coop. David loves life and he samples from its varied aspects freely and with gusto! |
