Father Heyward Ewart is an active priest with the Catholic Charismatic Church. He lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where he continues his 30-year counseling career and also serves as president of St. James the Elder Theological Seminary. Father Ewart has served as a professor at the university level, has conducted a number of continuing education programs, and has been an active member of groups advocating victims' rights—especially victims of child and domestic abuse. He has written and spoken widely on the subject of abuse, with an emphasis on the causes. For example, he maintains that domestic violence victims are groomed in childhood to accept later abuse.
